Youth Wind Ensemble

Rehearsals: Mondays, 7-9 pm

The Rivers Youth Wind Ensemble is open to all high school-age (grades 8–12) woodwind, brass, percussion, harp, double bass, and piano students. The ensemble is designed to provide high school musicians the opportunity to perform the finest contemporary and traditional repertoire in an advanced wind ensemble setting.

Auditions for the 2020-2021 Rivers Youth Wind Ensemble season will take place online via Acceptd. Auditions must be submitted by May 22nd, 2020 to be considered. Please note the following audition guidelines:

  • There is a $15 fee to use this service. Please let RSC know if this is a financial hardship for your family.
  • Progress will be saved if you begin an audition and return later.
  • Families with multiple children should have a parent create an account in order to add multiple students under the correct names.
  • Students wishing to remain in RYWE do not need to re-audition.

Students should prepare two contrasting pieces or movements of a larger work at the Senior District Level. Additionally, students should also be prepared to play scales up to 4 flats and 4 sharps as well as a chromatic scale.
