The Rivers School Conservatory believes that being placed with the right teacher is vital to a student’s progress in and enjoyment of music. After an admissions interview with the Director, the student is assigned to a faculty member who best meets the student’s musical needs and style of learning. Private lessons are available for students and adults of any age and ability. Students younger than 5 may benefit from starting in programs designed especially for younger students
. Private lesson tuition includes:
- Weekly 30, 45, or 60 minute private lessons
- Frequent evaluation of student development through workshops, mid-year progress reports and end-of-the-year evaluations
- Rehearsals and performances with professional accompanists
- Student recitals
- Master classes

Students are encouraged to participate in workshops once they have learned a piece and want to perform it. Workshops are offered on a weekly basis by department and students are given informal feedback. Students who are approved to play in a student recital will perform in the following week’s Friday student recital. For a schedule of workshops by department, please visit the Workshops & Recitals page
RECITALS Student recitals are held throughout the year on Friday evenings and occasionally on Saturdays. All student recitals take place in Rivera Recital Hall and are free and open to the public. Click here for more info.
