Fifth Annual Chopin Symposium a World-Class Celebration
6/22/2012
The Rivers School Conservatory hosted the fifth annual Chopin Symposium last weekend, featuring three days of exciting and thought-provoking programming focusing on a celebration of Fryderyk Chopin's life and art. Concerts and lectures featured world-class performers such as pianist Sergei Babayan, pianist Andrew Tyson, mezzo-soprano Victoria Avetisyan, and eminent Chopin scholars Jonathan Bellman and Zofia Chechlinska. Rivers Conservatory artist-in-residence and renowned pianist Roberto Poli organized the weekend-long symposium and performed in the closing concert which recalled Chopin's memorable Concert at the Salons Pleyel in 1842.
