Volunteer Opportunities

Annual Fund Committee
A friendly call to a fellow RSC current parent is the best way to garner support for the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund supports financial aid, programs such as the Annual Seminar on Contemporary Music for the Young, maintenance of our instruments and acquisition of new instruments, upgraded technology for composition and theory classes, as well as rehearsal time with accompanists.

Carnevale at the Conservatory Event Committee

Carnevale at the Conservatory is a fundraising event happening on Saturday, April 9, 2011 that supports The Rivers School Conservatory’s Scholarship Fund. The program will include student performances, a buffet dinner, auction, and raffle. Help is needed at all levels, including Auction Acquisitions, Décor, Ticket Sales/Invitation Distribution, Staffing, Set-up, Break-down, Food and beverage, and Performers.

Performathon

Performathon is a student-driven fundraising event benefiting The Rivers School Conservatory Scholarship Fund. Sixteen hour-long recitals are performed continuously at Natick Collection in Natick, MA on March 5 and 6, 2011. Students raise money for their performance, similar to a sport-athon. Volunteers are needed to check students in.

Annual Seminar on Contemporary Music
Now in its 33rd year, the Annual Seminar on Contemporary Music for the Young, happening on April 1-3, 2011, is three days of student and faculty performances of music composed in the last 25 years. This year’s commissioned composer is Robert Sirota. Volunteers are needed to sell tickets, distribute programs, and coordinate receptions.

Faculty Appreciation Lunch
RSC parents coordinate a banquet style luncheon. This year’s event will be held on a date to be announced.
