Private Lessons
These are offered on a weekly basis on all orchestral and jazz instruments, piano, guitar,
Chamber Ensembles
Chamber ensembles, either pre-existing or formed through the Adult Department of
RSC, have the opportunity to be coached by prominent local musicians and teachers.
Workshop and recital performance opportunites are available. Jazz Ensembles are also
available for adults.
Rivers Symphony Orchestra
RSO is a community orchestra for adults and students of all ages. Principal string chairs
are filled by RSC teaching faculty to assist less-experienced players as well as lead
sectional rehearsals. There is no fee for this ensemble. Rehearsals are held on Mondays,
7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Adult Piano Master Class
Faculty members Shann Jacobsen Wood and David Beyer teach four two-hour evening
sessions. The master classes provide an opportunity to perform, discuss, and be coached
on advanced repertoire in a supportive group setting. Enrollment is limited.
Adult Workshops
These workshops provide performance experiences for all instruments and levels in a
friendly and informal group setting for adult students studying privately at The Rivers
School Conservatory. Under the guidance of faculty member Shann Jacobsen Wood, the
sessions include coaching and some discussion. There is no charge for adult workshops.
